As we wrap up #VolunteerWeek, we have one final Hospice Georgian Triangle volunteer story to share with you. These individuals truly embody the spirit of community and compassion, and we are honored to recognize their efforts. Let’s hear about the wonderful work they do! 🙌 #HospiceGeorgianTriangle #VolunteerFinale
Today, we profile Steve Perry:
“I have chosen Hospice Georgian Triangle on the recommendation of my Father-In-Law George Christie. George made all the bird feeders that sit outside each of the patients’ windows and there was a need to help keep the feeders full for the patients. George reached out to me and asked if I’d be interested in filling the feeders a few times a week and I said sure. Now, having done this for the last 6 months or so I am finding it very fulfilling and satisfying knowing that I am helping to make the patients’ visits as pleasant as possible by having birds and squirrels stop by in their window for a snack. All the staff I have interacted with have been so nice and helpful and I enjoy the conversations I have when I stop by.
Outside of that I am a husband to my amazing wife Linda and father to 3 daughters and a son plus 2 grandchildren and a Golden Doodle called Baylee.
My hobbies include skiing, (Level 2 instructor) golf, biking, kayaking and hiking. I am also an avid photographer and just starting to do some drone/video work that I’m hoping to develop into a small business.”
