Thank you to everyone that came out and supported the 13th Hike & Bike for Hospice! Set for Sunday, May 28th, 2023, the day aimed at fundraising for a crucial cause: hospice palliative care for those with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Participants were invited to hike or bike in the stunning trails of Collingwood. Their involvement would bring comfort and compassion to those who needed it most. To celebrate their efforts, a gathering with lunch, music, and prizes was organized at the Collingwood Curling Club.
Individuals and teams came forward to register, with over 300 fundraisers anticipated to join. An ambitious target of $150,000 was set, with the understanding that each dollar raised would directly enhance the care provided.
As the event wrapped up on June 9th, the sense of achievement was immense. The goal was surpassed, with a total of $192,850 raised! Contributions from teams like the Stonebridge Paddlers and Margot’s Motivators played a significant part in this achievement. Sandra Sullivan, the Executive Director, echoed the sentiment of gratitude, crediting the success to every participant, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter. Their collective efforts turned the Hike & Bike for Hospice into more than a fundraiser—it became a heartening display of community spirit and compassion.
