Dear Friends and Supporters,

As the leaves begin to turn and the crisp air of fall settles in, I am filled with immense gratitude for the generosity and kindness you’ve shown to Hospice Georgian Triangle.

It’s because of caring individuals like you that we’re able to provide compassionate care and support to families when they need it most.

This season of giving thanks feels especially meaningful as we reflect on the many ways your contributions have made a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Did you know that more than 2,000 people have been cared for in Campbell House in the past ten years? Or more than 1,200 people were provided with grief and bereavement support last year?

We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you!

With your continued support, we look forward to a bright future filled with care, compassion, and community.

We’re excited to share in this newsletter recent milestones and wonderful things planned for the coming months. We hope you’ll join us in making this season one of connection and giving back.

On behalf of Hospice Georgian Triangle CEO Trish Rawn and myself, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of the Hospice Georgian Triangle family.

Together, we are making a lasting impact.

Warmest regards,

With Gratitude

There are so many moments to be thankful for over the past few months.  Here are some of the highlights.

Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation is pleased to announce the Care Gala raised over $500,000 in support of hospice palliative care in the South Georgian Bay region – a record-breaking success! Highlights of the evening included the impact auction that raised $168,427 in gifts then matched up to $100,000 by Jason and Beverly Price and their daughters. And, not only did the Price family match, they topped up the total raised Saturday to bring fundraising revenue to the $500,000 mark. The event included a raffle, a silent auction, incredible sponsors, a heartfelt speech by Thai Shelton, and the support of 320 generous guests.

Our heartfelt thanks for celebrating the tenth anniversary of Campbell House in August and at the Care Gala. Congratulations on ten years, you should be very proud!

The Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the event organizers and participants of the Marlwood Golf & Country Club Charity Golf Tournament. We are thrilled to share that the tournament raised $37,5000! Thanks to event hosts and organizers Alex and Sandy Smardenka for their passionate leadership. Special thanks to our friends and continuous supporters Dave and Gail Gibbons and Peter and Rita Premich, along with fellow committee members.

Crozier Gift Match Once again, Crozier Consulting Engineers (Crozier) will match gifts up to $10,000 in donations made to Hospice Georgian Triangle in November! This is the fourth year that Crozier has partnered with hospice to support palliative care in the South Georgian Bay region.  Gifts to Hospice Georgian Triangle mean that patients and families will be cared for at Campbell House and supported through community programs, free of charge. This is particularly meaningful over the holiday season when loved ones are nearing their end-of-life journey and may be away from home. Crozier supports a variety of charitable causes in the communities that they live and operate in. Founder and CEO, Chris Crozier, encourages as much philanthropic involvement for his team as possible. Hospice Georgian Triangle is thankful for the vision that Crozier shares in giving as much as possible over the holiday season. To donate with double the impact, click here.

In Loving Memory of Margot Brandreth: A Tribute from Hospice Georgian Triangle

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the passing of a dear friend of hospice, Margot Brandreth. Margot was a cherished member of the Hospice Georgian Triangle community whose kindness touched the lives of many. Margot passed away on September 20, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be remembered for her fearless leadership and exceptionally positive attitude. When faced with a terminal illness, she made the most of every single day and encouraged others to do the same. Read more about Margot and her impact on the Hospice Georgian Triangle

Words of appreciation

Words can’t express the devastation my family felt on Sept 12, 2023, when we were told my father, who was quite healthy only a few months earlier, would only have a few more days to live. We were told Campbell House was a great place with less noise, tests, and procedures compared to the hospital. I pictured the hospice to be a dark place with frail old people and cobwebs. My father, Michael Mills, passed away at Campbell House one year ago. The hospice was far from the dark place I imagined. My dad finally relaxed when he was at the hospice and my mom, sister and I were able to spend my dad’s final days with him in peace. Throughout this past year, I’ve often thought about Myke, Lisa, Kathy, Melissa, and all the other wonderful staff at Campbell House. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was comfortable and that we didn’t have anything to worry about in my dad’s final days. Thank you for everything you do! Stephanie Mills and family
