You can drive a Mustang next week, and it will benefit Hospice Georgian Triangle – Collingwood News

Drive for your Community is a fundraiser on July 8 that could raise up to $12,000 for hospice, if all 200 test drive slots are filled

Collingwood’s Hanna Motors and Ford Canada have promised to donate money to the local hospice foundation for every person who test drives one of their vehicles next week.

On July 8, Ford Canada and Hanna Motors will each donate $30, for a total of $60 to Hospice Georgian Triangle, everytime someone test drives a vehicle, to a maximum of $12,000 for the day.

According to Meaghan Isaac of Hanna Motor Sales Co. Limited, there’s no purchase necessary and no sales pitch.

“Hospice Georgian Triangle does incredible work providing no-cost, compassionate care to people and families in South Georgian Bay dealing with life-limiting illness,” said Isaac. “This is our way of putting something meaningful behind that.”

The event promises no follow-up pitch and no pressure.

“The only goal on July 8 is to raise as much money as possible for Hospice Georgian Triangle,” states the website.

The “Drive for your Community” event will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 63 in Collingwood at 490 Ontario Street.

You can register in advance for one of the 200 test drive spots available, which will help Hanna Motors staff prepare and confirm your arrival time. Regstration is not required, and walk-ins are also welcome.

In order to test drive a vehicle, you must have a valid drivers’ licence and proof of insurance, and be 18 or older.
