A glamorous evening celebrating the 10th anniversary of Campbell House
September 30, 2024 – COLLINGWOOD – Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation is pleased to announce the Care Gala, their signature fundraiser, raised over $500,000 in support of hospice palliative care in the South Georgian Bay region – a record-breaking success! The Care Gala was held last Saturday at Blue Mountain Resort.
The year’s event celebrated the 10th anniversary of Campbell House. Campbell House, the region’s first dedicated hospice-palliative-care-facility, opened its doors 10 years ago. This marked an incredible milestone for Hospice Georgian Triangle which has served the community for 37 years.
Highlights of the evening included the impact auction that raised $168,427 in gifts then matched up to $100,000 by Jason and Beverly Price and their daughters. The event included a raffle, a silent auction, incredible sponsors, and generous guests. And, not only did the Price family match, they topped up the total raised Saturday to bring fundraising revenue to the $500,000 mark.
“This incredible act of generosity is a testament to the family’s commitment to supporting hospice care and we are very grateful. We also appreciate daughter Ali sharing how hospice touched her family with the care of her grandmother,” explained Sandra Sullivan, Executive Director of the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation.
“As a fourth generation Collingwood family we have felt this impact first handedly throughout each generation – which is why we actively seek out opportunities to give. We hope this inspires others,” shared Ali Price.
“At the start of COVID my grandmother peacefully passed away in the care of the employees and volunteers at the Campbell House. At the time I didn’t know what a hospice was but through her passing, I quickly came to learn what it was and what kind of positive impact a hospice can have on a family”.
The program included a touching testimonial from Wasaga Beach resident, Thai Shelton. Thai’s husband Peter passed away last year at Campbell House.
The gala was once again chaired by Paula Zubek, who opened the evening with a touching tribute to her mother, who was the first patient to leave Campbell House, ten years ago.
“We are proud of the support of more than 320 guests who attended this year’s gala, making a major impact on end-of-life care and contributing to the ongoing offering of grief and bereavement counseling for families following the loss of a loved one,” says Paula Zubek, Event Chair and Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation Board member.
Many of the current and past board and committee members were in attendance representing both Hospice Georgian Triangle and the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation.
“Over the past decade, Hospice Georgian Triangle has had the privilege of welcoming over 1,950 individuals into Campbell House, providing compassionate care during their most vulnerable moments. Beyond that, we have extended our support to thousands more in our community through grief and bereavement services, as well as caregiver support programs across South Georgian Bay,” said Trish Rawn, Chief Executive Officer, Hospice Georgian Triangle.

Care programs come at no cost to the user and focus on the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of the patient, family and caregivers, enhancing quality of life.
Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation’s purpose is to raise the funds that allow Hospice Georgian Triangle to provide exceptional hospice palliative care and community programming.
