Musicians Christmas was conceived by Paul Young, born from his desire to use the power of music to support local charitable initiatives. Paul was not just a pianist; he was an elite virtuoso with deep roots in Ontario’s vibrant music scene. His passion for both music and philanthropy shone brightly throughout his life.
Tragically, after a summer-long battle with cancer, Paul passed away in September. Yet, his spirit lives on through the event he created and the team he meticulously assembled to ensure that Musicians Christmas would thrive for years to come. As Paul said, “The show must go on!”
Paul Young’s Musicians Christmas is a nonprofit annual event in its 14th year of production. A cherished tradition that embodies the true spirit of the season, founded by Executive Producer Paul Young, as an opportunity to use the power of music to support local charitable initiatives. Tragically, after a summer-long battle with cancer, Paul passed away in September of 2023. Yet, his spirit lives on through the event he created and the team he meticulously assembled to ensure that Musicians Christmas would thrive for years to come. As Paul said, “The show must go on!”
December’s event, held at the John Saunder’s Center, saw an all-star lineup of musicians and a sold-out crowd. All proceeds of the event are being donated to Hospice Georgian Triangle, where Paul spent his last days. Hospice is an amazing organization that provides compassionate care both in the home and at Campbell House for those dealing with life-limiting illnesses to enhance quality of life. With our growing population, none of it is possible without the help and donations of our community. The need for care has significantly increased as our communities keep growing and being such an impactful program offered at no cost to the client, the support they offer is second to none; the help and donations of our community will ensure these services are available for those who need it.
Paul Young’s Musicians Christmas 13 is proud to donate $8,004 to Hospice Georgian Triangle!
“We had no idea how we could say “goodbye” to our dad, and Campbell House gave us a safe space to spend time with him and be together without the chaos of the outside world. We couldn’t have imagined those last cherished moments any other way. There was no question we wanted the event proceeds to help keep this service running for our community.” Laurel Young
