A new campaign from Hospice Georgian Triangle and the Collingwood BIA means tulips will be planted around downtown and at Campbell House for every donation made to Hospice - Collingwood Today

A new campaign will add colourful flowers to Collingwood's downtown and offer a way for people to honour the memory of their loved ones who have passed away.

Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation and the Collingwood Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA) announced this week the launch of the tulip campaign.

Every donation made to Hospice Georgian Triangle in October will be matched by the Town of Collingwood planting a purple tulip bulb in a public space downtown and in the garden at Campbell House.

“Every tulip planted is more than just a flower—it’s a tribute to someone loved, and a reminder that hospice palliative care is made possible by our community,” said Sandra Sullivan, executive director of the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation, in a news release.

A tulip will be planted for any size donation made to the hospice foundation. The money donated to the foundation will be used to help fund palliative care at Campbell House and in the community through Hospice Georgian Triangle programs like grief and bereavement counselling and living wishes.

“This partnership is a beautiful way to bring Collingwood together,” said Susan Nicholson, of the Collingwood Downtown BIA in the news release. “When residents see the tulips in bloom, they’ll know they’ve helped brighten lives inside and outside of Campbell House and for hospice palliative care patients and their families.”
