Tim Hortons Smile Cookies return this week with local sales supporting Hospice Georgian Triangle.
The full $2 from every Smile Cookies sold at Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Tim Hortons owned by the Trude family between April 28 and May 4 will be donated to the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation.
“The Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation is incredibly grateful to Tim Hortons and the Trude family for their ongoing support to patients living with life-limiting illnesses and their families,” said Sandra Sullivan, executive director for the foundation, in a news release..
Proceeds from the cookies will be used to support palliative care and grief and bereavement programs offered through Hospice Georgian Triangle, including Campbell House.
Sarah Trude, owner of Tim Hortons restaurants in Collingwood, Owen Sound, Hepworth and Wiarton said the team is proud to support the local community again through the Smike Cookie Campaign.
“The South Georgian Bay region is fortunate to have exceptional hospice palliative care and support, thanks to Hospice Georgian Triangle,” said Trude in a news release.
Across Canada, the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign supports over 600 charities, all selected by local Tim Hortons owners. Last year, the Smile Cookie campaign raised $18.8 million for Canadian charities.
That also includes Ann Murphy and Amy Bennett, who own the Sunnidale Corners Tim Hortons in Stayner and have selected the Georgian Triangle Humane Society to receive the proceeds from Smile Cookies sold at their restaurants.
This year, there will also be a plushy cookie for sale, with net proceeds also being donated to the restaurant owner’s charity of choice.
Pre-order forms for bulk orders are available from Hospice Georgian Triangle’s Facebook page and at Tim Hortons restaurants.
