Dear friends and family of Hospice Georgian Triangle,

As the leaves begin to change and cooler air settles in, I am honoured to share the latest news and updates from Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation.

First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support of hospice palliative care in our community. Your gifts, big and small, have allowed us to provide compassionate care and comfort to patients and their families during their most challenging moments.

Your support means:

  • Annually, 250 people can be cared for at Campbell House in one of the 10 patients suites either for end-of-life or respite care.
  • Families can receive caregiver support, counselling, educational resources and bereavement support to cope with loss.
  • Patients can receive hospice palliative care earlier through a dedicated pain and symptom management clinic.

Your support has truly made a difference in the lives of those facing life-limiting illness and whether you have made a gift in memory of someone special, volunteered, attended an event, hosted a fundraiser, sponsored, or plan to make a gift in your will, we thank you for being an essential part of the Hospice Georgian Triangle family.

Wishing you a meaningful and beautiful fall season.

Warm regards,

Sandra Sullivan

Rebecca’s Reflections

Rebecca Wall

Rebecca Wall is a founder of Hospice Georgian Triangle and was the recording secretary of Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation.

While attending the 2023 AGM for Hospice Georgian Triangle, I experienced something rather unexpected; not just a feeling of immense pride but also of incredible amazement in hearing the many positive accomplishments of Hospice Georgian Triangle with regards to its programs and services. To me, the growth of hospice directly relates to the needs of the community and that in turn says more people are understanding all that hospice can do. That was one of the biggest hurdles when expanding hospice to include a residential care facility; raising awareness of the true meaning of palliative care and effective ways to deal with grief either in the community or in a residential setting.

Hearing about this year’s exceptional recognition of volunteers and staff confirms that they truly are the heart and soul of hospice. Their dedication, compassion and expertise in caring for individuals and their families becomes a most effective way of spreading the word about hospice care as the recipients speak to others of their involvement. Also, the collaboration between the Hospice Georgian Triangle and Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation Boards, an approach that will only strengthen the direction of palliative care in the community, simply added to my pride of Hospice Georgian Triangle and the Foundation and all of their accomplishments.

So many talented people are committed to Hospice Georgian Triangle, its goals and objectives, which will place palliative care in the forefront of healthcare. Hospice has worked diligently and palliative care has earned a much needed presence.

Thanks to the staff, volunteers, members of both Boards for a year of accomplishments and ensuring the foundations of hospice endeavors are sound.

The 2023 Care Gala – SOLD OUT

An evening of celebration and compassion in support of hospice palliative care patients and families.

Fall 2023 Newsletter

Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation is pleased to announce the 2023 Care Gala, our signature fundraiser, is sold out.  On Saturday, September 30, from 6 to 11 p.m. The Care Gala will be held at the Blue Mountain Resort’s Village Conference Centre in the Huron Ballroom, and chaired by Paula Zubek.

The year’s event will celebrate the incredible staff at Hospice Georgian Triangle and take a moment to recognize the teams that continue to provide exceptional care and support to patients and families in their greatest time of need.

We are proud of the support of more than 320 guests who will attend this year’s gala, making a major impact on end-of-life care and contributing to the ongoing offering of grief and bereavement counselling for families following the loss of a loved one” says Paula Zubek, Event Chair.

The foundation has set a goal of raising $200,000 at the Gala to support the most urgent needs of hospice. This is our largest fundraiser of the year and it goes a long way towards the provision of compassionate care, offered at no cost to patients and clients.

*A special thank you to our presenting sponsor Blue Mountain Resort.
