The Foundation

The Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation was established in 2012 as a registered charitable foundation (charitable registration number is 831085089RR0001) dedicated solely to raising funds for Hospice Georgian Triangle. Since 2012, the Foundation has raised more than $12 million thanks to generous support from a donor community of over 7,000 supporters. During the global pandemic in 2020, the Foundation raised over $1.5 million, allowing Hospice to begin offering new palliative respite care at Campbell House as well as expanded community support programs at 186 Hurontario Street, Collingwood, Ontario.

The mandate

The Foundation’s mandate is to raise donations from the community, allowing it to meet the funding needs required to maintain Hospice as one of the leading providers of hospice palliative care in Ontario and offering inpatient care at Campbell House and programs to those in need for no fees or costs to the people in their care.

Funding

The Ontario government partially funds the operating costs of Hospice Georgian Triangle and the Foundation covers the remainder of the operating costs and all capital costs through monthly transfers to the Hospice. Today, the Foundation funds more than 50% of the annual operating costs.

It is important to recognize the Foundation’s duty to manage community donations to meet today’s financial requirements and also long-term funding requirements, including the need to build reserves that can weather uncertain times.

Campbell House

The building of Campbell House, Hospice Georgian Triangle’s 10-bed in-patient facility in Collingwood, Ontario, was entirely funded by community donations.

Board of Directors

Board members participate in committees reporting to the board, including the executive committee, investment committee, real estate committee, communications committee, sponsorship committee, and along with volunteers sit on special event committees for the Hike or Bike committee and the Care Gala committee.

The Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation Board provides oversight and strategic direction to Foundation staff.
